Two new sites in Uganda, Member Care, Family update

It’s been a very full spring season setting up 2 new sites in Uganda, and continuing with Member Care at Training Leaders International [TLI].

My schedule:

Member care for TLI keeps me on the airplane once a month to Minneapolis, along with texting/emailing/talking on the phone/Zooming and encouraging our staff. Almost half our trainers and staff live in various places around the U.S.: California, Missouri, Montana, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Texas, Virginia, Michigan, and Georgia. It’s a challenge to keep up with them, but rewarding.

The last week of April, I will be attending a working retreat with the Expository Team. My group will be developing labs to reinforce and practice skills for interpreting Old Testament narrative. The other group will be developing labs on interpreting Old Testament law.

The first 2 1/2 weeks in May, I will be in eastern Uganda. Two new cohorts of 35 students, in cities an hour apart, will begin. We schedule the trainings back to back to save on airfare. We will be teaching course 1, Knowing God, Knowing Scripture, Knowing Ourselves. If you would like a pdf copy of our teaching manual, let me know.

The last week in May I will be back in Minneapolis for more meetings.

In June, Vickie and I will travel to Colorado Springs for our every other year TLI retreat at Glen Eyrie. After the retreat we will do some member care visits in Montana and see some family.

It’s been a wonderful almost 8 years of ministry with TLI. When we began in 2018 our financial support came in quickly, and we haven’t had to ask for any additional funding. However, with inflation, the rising costs of airfare, and some dear friends being promoted to heaven, we could use an increase to keep our account healthy. Additionally, my member care duties have increased the business expense line items significantly.

Please consider beginning or increasing your giving to our account. Here’s the giving link.

As always please continue to pray for our students. TLI is an essential Christian organization serving churches around the world.

Thanks,

Bob and Vickie

Looking back after 3 years of training and forward as the students speak of good things to come.

Wonderful day of pure goodness, February 14. We also celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary that day.

The twins, Andrew and Katie’s, will be four in July. They look pretty innocent here:/
